Our Client
The Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) was created to conserve and reclaim the waters of the Grand River, and was charged with building dams along the river for the purposes of hydroelectric generation and flood control. GRDA transmits and delivers electricity across a 24-county service area in Northeastern Oklahoma.
Location
Vinita, Oklahoma
Project: Analysis, Network System Design, Installation, and Training
In order to better service the 9,000 acre MidAmerica Industrial Park (the largest in Oklahoma), GRDA needed a more effective means of collecting metering data. GRDA sought a secure wireless radio network to provide real time meter readings.
GRDA contracted JTS to perform site surveys and provide spectrum analysis, RF engineering, and an overall system design. After identifying and surveying the 7 master stations, JTS visited several meter locations to survey and capture data. Ultimately, 133 meter sites were identified. The JTS design was based on the Cambium PMP 450i point-to-multipoint product, in the 3.6 GHz band. JTS installed access points at the master sites, and provided training for GRDA’s staff for the meter/subscriber locations.
